Good Governance and Charity Regulation Update Seminars

The Developing Governance Group in association with the Charity Commission would like to invite you to a free seminar focusing on governance and an update on charity regulation.

The Developing Governance Group will explain how the Code of Good Governance can be used to help board/committee members achieve a greater understanding of what is expected of them in their governance role. They will also demonstrate how the Governance Health Check and DIYcommitteeguide can be used to help implement better governance practices in their organisations.

The Charity Commission will present changes that are being made to the annual monitoring return and online registration application as well as giving an overview of where it is at present with regard to its powers and decisions which staff are permitted to make. The Commission will be reminding charities about the requirements to register and report serious incidents to it as well as highlighting what is new on the horizon for charity regulation.

These seminars are open to trustees and employees of voluntary and community organisations as well as those who advise them. The first of the seminars will take place during Trustees’ week which is for any type of organisation to attend. The remaining five seminars are specifically targeted at those from different sub-sectors.
