Foras na Gaeilge Colmcille Small Grants Scheme Opens for Applications in Ireland

Foras na Gaeilge is inviting applications to the Colmcille Small Grant Scheme, which provides grants to support research and planning for joint Gaelic language projects and partnerships between Ireland and Scotland.

Colmcille is a partnership between Foras na Gaeilge in Ireland and Bòrd na Gàidhlig in Scotland. Its aim is to promote interaction and cooperation between speakers of Irish and Scottish Gaelic and strengthen the two language communities.

The Small Grant Scheme supports the research, development and planning needed to establish joint initiatives.

The maximum grant available under the scheme is £1,750.

Applications are accepted from eligible organisations based on the island of Ireland that can promote relationships between Irish and Scottish Gaelic language communities and that have the required documentation in place. Organisations in Scotland can access support for Colmcille activity through Bòrd na Gàidhlig.

Eligible costs include research, partnership planning, language use plans, workshops and training, with necessary travel, accommodation and subsistence supported subject to prior agreement.
