Dunmore Community Benefit Fund - Limavady and surrounding area

Purpose of the Fund

This local community fund has been set up by Dunmore Wind Farm to ensure that wind farms, whilst having obvious environmental benefits, also provide significant social and economic benefits to the local community.  The Dunmore Community Benefit Fund will be administered on behalf of Dunmore Wind Farm by the Community Foundation for Northern Ireland.

Funding in the range of £500 – £5,000 will be available to local community projects that are planned and run for the benefit of the local population within the designated catchment area (within 13 miles of the wind farm).  Applicant organisations must be located in this area.  Boundary Map for Dunmore

The fund welcomes applications from constituted community and voluntary groups that address the following areas:

  1. Community cohesion and engagement;

  2. Energy efficiency and sustainability;

  3. Social, cultural or sporting benefit for the local community;

  4. Training and education;

  5. Environmental benefit;

  6. Economic benefit.

We Will Not Fund:

  • Organisations located outside the designated area

  • Holidays or trips outside Northern Ireland

  • Individuals

  • Salaries

  • Running costs of large organisations

  • Promotion of religion

  • Applications from statutory organisations

  • Activities or initiatives which should be statutory obligations

  • Political parties

Applicants that currently hold a live grant are not eligible to re-apply in any new round until all outstanding information is provided for the current grant held.  This includes details of spend and any monitoring.
