Grants of up to £500 to support volunteering projects in the UK that are run by young people (under 30 years) and address a need in the local community, with particular interest in projects that promote and encourage volunteering among young people.
Objectives of Fund
The funding is aimed at individuals and groups of young people who are able to demonstrate that through volunteering or community service they can enhance the lives of others, particularly those most marginalised by society.
Who Can Apply
Small groups of young people who are under 30 years of age can apply.
Funding is not available for the following:
Overseas trips or gap year projects.
Uniforms, equipment or training for personal benefit, eg university course fees, laptop for an individual.
Direct expenditure for a fundraising event, such as venue hire.
Projects run by groups aged over 30 years.
The funding is for projects that support and encourage youth volunteering within the UK.
Grants are available for projects in the applicant's local area that involve local people and can demonstrate that through volunteering or community service they can enhance the lives of others, particularly those most marginalised by society.
Projects should adhere to the following:
Be run by a young volunteer, or team of young volunteers, the majority of whom are younger than 30 years old.
Take place in England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales.
Have a clear benefit to others in the wider community.
Encourage volunteering. The more volunteers involved, the better.
Preference is given to supporting innovative projects.

The Trust should receive the application at least three weeks before the meeting date in order to be considered.
Applications received less than three weeks before a meeting will roll over to the next one.
