Mid and East Antrim Borough Council - Community Grants 19/20

Grants Support Scheme

The scheme is open on a rolling basis, subject to the availability of budget.

The aim of the scheme will be to provide financial support through various grants categories for organisers of events as well as community groups, sports clubs, arts groups in the Borough undertaking projects which are of benefit to all of the citizens of Mid and East Antrim Borough area.

Grants are available towards community-based projects including:

  • Setting up of New Groups

  • Equipment

  • Public Liability Insurance

  • Community Events

  • Civic Representation

  • International Events

  • AED / Defibrillator

 

Community Festival Fund

The Community Festivals Fund is open for festivals taking place before 31 March 2020. Council would particularly welcome applications for festivals which promote equality, target poverty and social exclusion and encourage cultural expression.

The Community Festivals Fund is a competitive scheme and festival organisers will be required to demonstrate how their festival meets the assessment criteria. There is no guarantee that successful applicants will receive the amount applied for.

  • Single Day Festivals - 100% funding up to £1,500

Festivals must last more than 3 hours and must consist of more than one element. For example BBQ, children’s entertainment, music etc.

  • Multi-day Festivals - 100% funding up to £2,000

Festival activities must take place over two or more consecutive days and have a common theme. Each day must contain activities lasting more than 3 hours per day.

The closing date for applications for the Community Festivals Fund is 12pm Friday 10 May 2019.

 

Everybody Active Grants

The Sport NI Every Body Active 2020 Small Grants Programme 2019-20 for projects taking place before 29 January 2020 is now open.  The programme aims to prioritise investment in sports clubs, community groups and governing bodies of sport, especially those based in areas of greatest need that will deliver increased sports participation.

Priority will be given to projects which aim to increase participation among traditionally underrepresented groups which include:

  • Women and girls

  • People with a disability;

  • Those living in areas of greatest social need (specifically people living within the top 25% of wards designated by NI Multiple Deprivation Measure Index 2010)

Council will consider up to 100% funding of total eligible costs up to a maximum of £2,500.  Projects must be completed by 29 January 2020.

 

Good Relations Grant Support Scheme

The Good Relations Grants Scheme is open for the 2019-2020 financial year.

This scheme is aimed at projects taking place between 1 April 2019 and 31 March 2020 and will operate on a rolling basis (subject to available budget) until the closing date of Friday 31 January 2020.  Should the scheme go over-subscribed, Council may reduce the amount offered on a pro-rata basis.

Applications should be submitted prior to the commencement of the project or expenditure incurred in relation to the project.

The Good Relations Grant Scheme is a 100% funded opportunity, for constituted groups, up to a maximum of £2,500. This can be applied for through one large application or through a series of smaller applications.
