Grants are available to support capital projects or the purchase of equipment where a relatively small amount of match funding from Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council is required.
Armagh City, Banbridge & Craigavon Borough Council offers financial support to eligible groups in the voluntary, community and social enterprise sector. There is a range of funds to help groups who can provide services that are aligned to Council priorities.
Large Scale: grants of between £2,501 and £75,000 are available to cover a maximum of 25% of a projects total cost for large capital project funds.
To be eligible for capital works funding, projects must address at least one of the following aims:
Promoting tolerance and social inclusion.
Contributing to the reduction of poverty at local level.
Improving health and wellbeing.
Match Funding Restrictions
Match funding of at least 75% of the total cost is required for Large Scale projects
Applications will only be accepted from formally constituted, community managed and autonomous organisations. The organisations should be not-for-personal profit, with wider community interests at heart, working at a local community level. The organisation’s governing document must clearly state that:
Membership is inclusive of the identified community and open to its full range of opinion.
Each year the organisation holds an Annual General Meeting (AGM) at which each member has an equal vote.
The organisation has a management committee or board of directors which is appointed at the AGM using a clear democratic process for the selection of members i.e. election.
The committee/board presents the report for the year at the AGM.
An annual statement of accounts is presented at the AGM.
Funding is not available for projects which:
Have no significant benefit to the Council area.
For projects relating to one venue even if submitted by different groups.
Provide no potential benefit to the public, either in the short or long term.
Could be carried out on a commercial basis.
Have already taken place or are already under way at the time of the assessment.
Duplicate what already exists.
Are fundraising events or activities.
Are of a party political nature.
Promote a particular religion.
Are against Council policy.

This is a rolling programme and will close once the budget is committed or on 31 October 2019 (noon), whichever comes first.

In very exceptional circumstances a paper alternative will be allowed but this must be agreed in advance with an officer.
